It's time for a change

I had bangs when I was 6 years old, then at 16, then at 18 and.... now one more time. I simply love them. I think it's an easy way to look stylish without having to change drastically your hair.
Everytime I have had them done it's been during my "rebellious" moments. Even at 6 I remember wanting to look different lol.
Right now I'm definitely trying to define who I am, what I really want in life, my personal style, my values, what I believe in, love...
So bangs are a my way of saying: Hey, I think this is me, get used to it. I don't know if that makes sense lol. So now I've decided to keep them. I have to get up earlier, but it's worth it.
A new haircut can make you feel like the prettiest woman out there or, on the other hand, when done wrong, the ugliest. Either way, hair grows. That's what my mom always tells me. And even if you hate your new haircut you can still try new hair do's. Like a chic chignon, or a sweet ponytail. Maybe even going for Blair's look and wearing a head band. I just say go for it! It's good to change.

I can't say the same thing about changing your hair COLOR. I've never done that. I want to, but I'm scared! I am a brunnette, and I have wanted to be a redhead for almost a year and a half and I still don't have the courage to do it. I love my hair color and I don't want to change it forever so... that's why. Maybe this year I'll be brave enough!

Jill Stuart's F/W O9

Jill Stuart's last collection was great. It was inspired by female music icons, such as Anita Pallenberg. The show started with some strong pieces in black and then soften up with whites and greys, including fabrics like chiffon and lace.

Why are you wearing heels?

(images provided by www.hoyfashion.co.uk)

So today was one of my friend's birthday and we got together in her house. I wore heels. I love heels, why shouldn't I wear them?
"Why are you wearing heels? NO ONE is wearing heels.. You should say you're coming from a fashion show." That was the first comment I got from one of my best friends when I arrived.
I really don't care what the others think as long as I'm not wearing a formal dress and everyone else is in jeans. I am actually getting used to her comments since I know she's more conservative than me, but the point is, why does she or anyone else has to be a "follower"? Dare to be you, dare to be different.

A little bit about me..

I have been reading fashion blogs for a long time and it never occurred to me I would end up writing one myself.
So, why did I start it? Because right now I want to take a fashion journalism course and I figured this would be a good way to start since where I live there are basically... NONE. And besides, it would be cool to blog about things I love.
Ok, some data about me:
- I major in Fashion Design.
- I love to dance, but unfortunately right now I can't (lack of time with college stuff and all...)
- I will be going on a study abroad program in Paris next year.
- I love to travel.
- Oh and, no, I don't have a boyfriend lol. Lately everyone has been asking this question so... just to clarify. I may sound like a workaholic but, who has time for dating when you have so many things to do?

The picture above is from the Blumarine Fall/Winter 2OO9 Collection. She's one of my favorite designers and this is one of my favorite dresses in the collection. Love the color, love the sillhouette, love the texture on top.

Comments are more than welcome!
